Electrical installation controls

Inspection of new electrical installations and re-inspection of older electrical installations
The reasons that the inspections and re-inspections of the electrical installations should be carried out are the following:

1. Risks of electric shock
2. Risks of fire
3. According to the current legislation, legal responsibilities are assigned to both electricians and to the owners and users of the facilities in case of an accident.

Re-inspections in accordance with applicable law must be carried out:

• For residences, at least every fourteen (14) years.
• For indoor business premises that do not have flammable materials, at least every seven (7) years.
• For indoor business premises with flammable materials, at least every two (2) years.
• For places of entertainment and gathering of the public, at least every year.
• For professional facilities in the countryside (marinas, swimming pools, campsites) at least every year and in case of power outage, before reconnection.
• For all the above categories if there is a change of use of the installation
